Bio
Madison made her directorial debut at age 19 with REMEMBRANCE, a mystery thriller she co-wrote with her father (the cinematographer of the film). The short film screened at film festivals across the country and went on to win multiple awards including Best Short Film at the 2017 Action on Film International Film Festival, before landing on Amazon.
Intent on developing her craft, Madison applied to the USC School of Cinematic Arts and was accepted into the undergraduate Film & Television Production program. During her time at USC, she wrote and directed the critically-acclaimed romantic comedy IN OUR HEADS, which premiered at the Cinequest Film Festival in 2019. In her senior year, she was selected to direct the pilot episode of the straight-to-series TV production SIDE EFFECTS, a master's level capstone project. She was the first USC undergraduate ever to receive this opportunity. The 4-part series went on to win the 2019 TV/New Media Award from the Caucus Foundation.
Following her studies at the School of Cinematic Arts, Madison travelled to Berlin as a USC Renaissance Scholar, where she minored in German, continued her film studies, and interned at a local marketing agency. She traveled extensively throughout Europe, falling in love with its rich history and culture.
Madison returned to the United States in 2020 and, while working at her father’s production company, wrote the pilot episode and bible for a limited series (THE DISAPPEARANCE OF VIOLET WILLOUGHBY), a supernatural mystery thriller set in the misty Pacific Northwest (where she currently resides).
Though she has experience directing a variety of genres, Madison continually finds herself drawn back to the mystery thriller. She is fascinated by character-centric intellectual films packed with symbolism and clever plot twists. She enjoys creating characters that find themselves in dire circumstances in their journey of self-discovery.
An avid reader with a zest for adventure, Madison draws inspiration from books, travel, nature and a deep desire to connect with people.
